Our son called us and told us of the herniated disk in the back of his neck

Last September (2002) our son called us and told us of the herniated disk in the back of his neck. He was experiencing serious neck, shoulder, and upper extremity pain. He had an MRI and the results determined two bulges. Surgery would require going through the front of his throat to repair the disc in the back of his neck. A very risky surgery. I placed the Sacred heart Badge (Blessed by Our Lord when he visited Rhoda) on the herniated disc at the back of his neck and prayed asking for healing. A week passed by! Then, my son called and said,”that piece of disc in my neck is being absorbed by my body. The surgeon said the chance of that happening is less than one out of ten chances.” Now, John has gone on with his life to be a Spine Specialist. MM

The Holy water from Rhoda Wise Home was very instrumental to our babies’ survival.

In February of this year (2014) my wife and I became pregnant with twins and soon after we discovered that it was a high risk pregnancy. My wife’s OB doctor transferred her to Akron Children’s Fetal Specialist team who quickly diagnosed us with what was already stage three Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). Our identical boys were Mo-Di twins meaning same placenta separate sack and by June we were sent to Cincinnati for fetal laser surgery in hopes to correct this dangerous for both babies situation (baby B was donor giving baby A (recipient) way to much of his fluids which if it goes undetected and/or treated is almost always fatal for one or both babies and if one survives it has a host of health problems).

About this time I found out about Rhoda Wise and made a visit to the home, picked up the video and book along with Holy water. About once or twice a week I rubbed a little of the Holy Water on my wife’s belly and prayed for the struggling babies. In Cincinnati she went in for surgery and they were unable to do what they have been able to do successfully in over 800 cases, —my wife’s case was so rare because the umbilical cords were too close together so it was too dangerous. All they could do was an amnio-reduction (drained about 9 oz., of excess fluid from baby A’s sack) and gave us the news that we will likely need to go in for additional amnio- reductions, twice/week ultra sounds, and still high risk for losing one or both of the babies as well as likely premature delivery. They even discussed the possibility of maybe needing to do a medically induced miscarriage of the sicker baby (which at the time was baby A who we planned on naming Luke)…he has excess fluid around the heart and they were very worried because it was way above normal…. in order to increase the chances of saving the healthier baby B (who we wanted to name Cody). We declined that option in hopes and prayer /faith in God that they would both make it through prayer and continued use of the Holy water.

My wife continued the ultrasounds keeping a close eye on all important fluid levels and she never needed another amnio- reduction, however, at around the all-important 24 week mark, Baby B (Cody’s ) fluids started dropping below normal levels. The doctor said if they didn’t come up or continued to drop they would have to induce labor, get the babies out as it would be too dangerous for them to stay in utero. We increased the prayers and Holy water treatments and again, surprisingly, Cody’s fluids started creeping back up to the low end of “normal” level. At 28 weeks and 2 days my wife’s water broke (Aug 15, the Feast of the Assumption) and an emergency C section was performed. Cody was breach so that was another potentially very dangerous situation, but we were completely overjoyed that both babies survived birth! Born 5 seconds apart at 2lbs. 2 oz. each, they had many new challenges. Immediately they were transported from Akron General to Akron Children’s Hospital where they were put on oxygen, feeding tubes, along with a host of other wires/ equipment…

As I write this I am very happy to say that Luke and Cody are now 64 days old, still in the NICU but doing so much better. They are now just over 5lbs each, bottle feeding, and were just taken out of incubators three days ago and are now in cribs! We very much look forward to bringing them home in a few days. We feel that the Holy water from Rhoda Wise Home was very instrumental to our babies’ survival. MD

My parents were told not to expect me to live past the age of 20.

When I was a small child around the age of two (1969), I began to have some health trouble. One day some friends were visiting my parents and commented to my mom about how hard my stomach felt. It must have been hurting because an issue was made about it. According to my mother, I cried most of the night and my parents decided to take me to the hospital.

At the hospital, they drained several pounds of water from me. My abdomen was bloated badly because I was filled with fluid. I had developed or already had the kidney disease Nephrotic Syndrome. I do not know how to spell the name of the disease, but I do know that it causes protein to seep out from the urinary system. This disease was a life threatening illness that would eventually lead to kidney failure. My parents were told not to expect me to live past the age of 20.

One day we went to Rhoda Wise’s house with some relatives. While I was there, I went into a room that had a picture of St. Therese on the wall. I became entranced looking at that picture. St. Therese spoke to me and reached out her hands to me and told me I would be getting better soon. (1973)

A couple of months went by and nothing changed for me. Then the miracle happened. I became sick with chicken pox. I had to go off my medication because of the infection. During this time I was deathly sick. It was expected that during this time of being off my medication, major complications would arise because of the kidney disease. They could have been fatal. However, during this time, my protein levels never went up once. The doctor was puzzled as were my parents. At the time of my worst possible health scenario, I was not regressing, but progressing and holding steady with my kidney function. I have never had another kidney problem to this day. I have never had another kidney problem to this day, and I am 45 years old. The disease is still incurable. AC

I could not sleep, eat, or do anything except pray…

My husband and I married in November 2009…we decided to take our honeymoon in March…when we returned, I noticed a peculiar body rash, and then a weird mouth sore. After consulting both my dentist and MD the pain went to my inner ear. I consulted my MD who had no idea what it was but prescribed an antibiotic.

Shortly after finishing the treatment, a terrible thing happened—I developed double vision. It was Good Friday morning that I awoke to feeling my vision was “off”, but I drove to get my hair cut. When I came back home, I laid down feeling exhausted and frustrated. When I arose from a restless catnap everything in the room appeared double. I could barely make it down the stairs to tell my husband.

We contacted my eye doctor who saw us immediately. He sent me home with instructions to go to the ER if it got worse. Early Easter morning we made our way to the ER as the double vision not only split more but started to bounce. Many tests were given. Major illnesses were ruled out. I was referred to an eye specialist who gave me prisms for my glasses and neurologist. I could not sleep, eat, or do anything except pray….

A friend offered to take me to Rhoda Wise’s home. While there I knelt in the altar room and was praying the rosary. Every ounce on me wanted to flee the room. I was anxious and sweating, and had visions of running out of the house. I kept praying for the grace to stay and pray the rosary. As I prayed, tears flowed. I removed my prism glasses and set them down on the floor. Once the rosary was completed I put them back on only to discover that my vision was double when I put them on! I removed my glasses and everything was mono-vision. My vision was straight on. The upper and lower extremities were blurry, but not double. I had to remove the prisms from my glasses to see properly!

When I returned to the doctor several days later, he was surprised to find that I could see and told me he believed in miracles and divine intervention. BmcK
